DIRECTOR

  • Anurag Asthana is a global business executive having worked in Xerox, GE, Hill-Rom, Tyco Healthcare, Medtronic, Mettler-Toledo and Tata Elxsi. He has  been working in the healthcare industry for last 18 years and overall experience of about 21 years. He is currently based out of Minneapolis, USA.
  • He was in Hyderabad, India from June 2011 to July 2016 where he started the R&D and Engineering Services Center for Covidien (now Medtronic), which  has now grown to 200+ people. The center provides global engineering support to all business units and had taken up turnkey New Product Development  projects for Indian, Emerging and Global Markets. 
  • Management experience in (Organizational Leadership, Innovation, Strategy, Internal Marketing, Operational Excellence, Relationship building with internal and external customers and stakeholders). He was a member of the Executive Committee of AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce, Hyderabad Chapter) and has participated in various policy decisions with state government officials in India and the US Consul General and US Ambassador to India. He was invited to participate in a round table  meeting at the US Embassy in New Delhi with a delegation that came with President Obama on his visit to India in January 2015. He has served as an advisor to several startups and has been actively supporting the effort of Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and other members of the CAMTech (Consortium of Affordable Medical Technologies). 
  •   He has Advanced Management Diploma from Wharton Business School, MS              degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, an  MS Degree in Reliability Engineering from University of Maryland at College Park, and an MBA from Colorado State University, Fort Collins.

  • Dr Ambuj Chaturvedi is Head-R&D for Emerging Markets at Medtronic, based out of MEIC (Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center),
  • Hyderabad where his mandate is to build a portfolio of In-Country, For-Country products and services in healthcare.
    A trained clinician-surgeon from BJ Medical College, Pune, Dr A moved from his last clinical role (as Head-Neurotrauma at Fortis, Noida) to the
    world of management around a decade back. He completed his MBA (Gold Medalist), specializing in marketing and strategy at the Goa Institute
    of Management and started his corporate stint with J&J Medical India. After taking on multiple roles at J&J in marketing, education and
    strategy, he transitioned into a Medical Affairs leadership role at Medtronic, where he was heading the Center for Innovation at Mumbai.
    Subsequently, he took on a clinical innovation leadership role at MEIC, Hyderabad and has recently taken over as Head-R&D (Emerging Markets)
    for the largest global medical device player.
    In addition to clinical and management qualifications, Dr A is also a certified Design Thinker from MIT, USA and a charter member of
    Toastmaster Club for leadership development. He is a mentor-reviewer for BIRAC grants (Dept. of Science & Technology, GOI) and the Grand
    Challenges Initiative (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), mentor on the Atal Incubation Mission (in addition to 8 more incubators across the
    country) and industry member of the Medtech Consortium, Hyderabad Circle. As a panel member of the Technology Transfer Office, National
    Biopharma Mission, his role is to guide initiatives around productizing meaningful research in academic centers at a national level.
    An avid artist, poet and singer, Dr A spends time exploring philosophy and the evolution of socio-cultural dynamics.

  • Dr. Gulati is an experienced Neonatologist, a learner-educator, researcher, innovator and
    Neonatal/infant feeding disorders specialist with a proven track record of working as a faculty at
    Nationwide Children’s Hospital, one of the top Children’s Hospitals and the Ohio State University
    since 2011. Currently he is an attending Neonatologist at one of the Bay area Hospitals in California.
    Dr. Gulati is skilled in Clinical Research and Medical Education in areas of Pediatrics and
    Neonatology. He acquired his foundational medical training and Pediatrics residency in India before he
    continued to pursue another residency training in Pediatrics in the U.S. with a fellowship focused in
    Neonatal Perinatal Medicine from Case Wester n Reserve University School of Medicine- Cleveland
    Clinic Foundation. His post fellowship advanced training involved using modern neuro-aero-digestive
    physiology techniques (ph-impedance and pharynges-esophageal manometry) to enhance the
    understanding of complex and troublesome aerodigestive symptoms in young infants. These techniques
    allow better physio-pathological correlation to make improved, objectively tested, personalized,
    prioritized and family centered decisions for better outcomes. As a physician researcher, his goals are
    (1). To prevent spontaneous and iatrogenic feeding disorders/delay among fragile premie infants by
    minimizing provider management variation thereby reducing length of stay (2) To provide targeted
    and personlized feeding management for the complicated infants with feeding difficulty to reduce
    gastrostomy burden for the patients and care providers.
    Extensive experience with diverse and challenging patient’s pathology at Nationwide Children's
    Hospital for 10 years has given Dr. Gulati an opportunity to make innovative, out of the box
    therapeutic models to help alleviate troublesome symptoms for infants referred for gastrostomy
    evaluation. Also as a Medical Director of Neonatal Nutrition Program Dr. Gulati has made in
    improvement and optimization of nutritional needs of most fragile premature infants, working with a
    dedicated group of dietitians, lactation and nutrition specialists. His multiple papers published in
    leading international journals and presentations in international conferences is a testimony to his
    dedication towards improving outcomes in younger infants by bringing cutting edge research with his
    mentor Dr. Sudarshan Jadcherla.
    Dr. Gulati sees himself as a problem tackler and a solution finder. A close interaction with
    biomedical technology all these years has challenged him to solve common neonatal problems and
    given a direction towards understanding of more complex physiological processes using these
    modalities. Dr. Gulati’s previous ideas have led to funding acquisition for the development of
    prototypes. He received innovator of the year award in 2015. His innovation related work has been
    presented in AAP national meetings. One of the most recent prototypes he co-invented is related to an
    innovative, non invasive breath based testing for Covid- 19 virus. This collaborations include research
    faculty from university of Colorado and Indiana University.
    He currently serves as an expert reviewer for National Institute of Health (NIH) study section
    for SBIR/STTR- biomedical devices. Dr. Gulati has also served on advisory panels for Mead-Johnson
    and currently serving on advisory board for (1) Healthx Solutions, an integrated platform for tele-
    medecine and remote patient monitoring, (2) Innoexcel Inc., an accelerator organization for biomedical
    startups and (3) Pneuma systems corporation, a proprietary medical technology company. (4) Tata
    Elxsi, an engineering solution company in healthcare and medical technology.
    Dr. Gulati connects well with his roots. He has been mentoring medical professionals at
    different levels of training in various medical colleges/Hospitals in India. He has made collaborationwith both private and government medical institutes with common goals in education, research, IP
    sharing and clinical outcomes in neonatology.
